Pushing Your Fitness
Joining the gym is the best option, on top of any other sport that may interest you. However, simply walking outside in nature can help shift the lymphatic system and start to tone your thighs!
A good diet lifestyle would mean nothing if you are sedentary. Why do people change their diet anyway? It is usually to get a better physique. People want to look good and feel good.
Get a picture of your favourite athletes to motivate you into action.
The Next Level
Once you are a regular visitor to the gym, you can start to take the training to the next level. That means pushing yourself to achieve optimal results.
- Try a new piece of equipment
- Create your own routine
- Increase the amount of time on the treadmill/cross-trainer/bike
- Stretch (this is so important if you want an optimal fully functioning physique!)
This is a great website for helping you choose a plan if you cant think of one!

Pushing yourself that little bit extra on every piece of equipment can soon yield the toned physique you are after.
You may have been given a training programme by a fitness instructor when you joined the gym and initially that will be useful, because they usually tailor their programmes to what you want to achieve. However, this can often become boring when you get a bit more confident, after repeating the same routine you want to mix it up to be random and spontaneous - to help stimulate your brain.
So make up your own! Be spontaneous but focus on certain muscle groups when you go in the gym.
My favourite pieces of equipment in the gym include (there are too many to mention here!):
Crosstrainer

Speedrope

Back Lat row

My typical gym routine
Is usually spontaneous and random! I can think of things off the top of my head. I would usually start with either weights or crosstrainer to get me into the fat burning phase.
A great article on fat loss
If I start with weights I am sure to use the whole of my body rather than single out a specific muscle (until my body is warmed up). Then I either focus on my back; legs; arms or abs. I like to use a variety of weights and exercises to keep my work out consistent and motivated throughout.
Throughout the workout stretching is imperative.
At the moment my focus has been on cardio so I have spent time on the cross trainer; bike; speed rope and running.
What motivates me is my ideal physique (toned and athletic keep this in mind) and a good playlist on my ipod.
Keeping hydrated is a must
Goalsetting helps!
Overall the main thing with exercising is being consistent. If you dont see results the day you join the gym, dont feel naffed just keep going! Use motivational videos to inspire you to push yourself to the next level. Here is one great video I found:
